System Engineer (m/f/d) Procurement & Sales Activities (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Spaceopal (SPO) System Engineer role with focus on the Procurement & Sales Activities is supporting the Spaceopal Procurement & Sales Team in the preparation of the proposals and requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams, including the various technical experts as well as with all industrial partners.
The System Engineer, with focus on Procurement & Sales, is a member of the Procurement & Sales Team.

The main responsibilities are twofold:
Effectively collaborate to the preparation of all technical aspects together with the identified point of contacts involved each time (evolution, external sites, services, support functions, etc.) in the frame of proposal preparation and negotiation and of the joint, temporary working groups setup for the specific proposals.
To provide the Procurement and Sales team with the technical expertise in support of the Pre-Sales activities and, once a proposal is being prepared, for the full integration of the technical aspects, following the System Engineering processes and activities spanning over all Galileo and Spaceopal’s GNSS infrastructures, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the experts of the Technical team.
Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following:
Support the harmonized preparation of all aspects of complex technical proposals, in close coordination with the Procurement & Sales team and all technical areas, ensuring that the various inputs are harmonized and are driven by the system perspective
Analyse, tailor and develop requirements for contract changes and new activities to be procured
Support the Procurement & Sales team in the evaluation and negotiation of complex technical offers
Support technical analysis and solutions of all ongoing projects and new developments
In general, the System Engineer is required to support the development of technical offers, technical notes, plans and other documentation as required, plus regular reports on status of activities across all Spaceopal projects.

Required Qualification and Experience:
Hold a degree in Telecommunications/Electronics/Informatics Engineering or Physics, Math or similar related work experience
Have a Systems Engineering formation, best if developed in the space industry and in international environments/projects
Have proven working experience in space industry, space service, or navigation downstream applications
Have experience and background in Satellite Navigation and related mission services engineering
Have experience, background and strong interest in commercial aspects of complex technical projects
Have knowledge and experience in security and related processes
Have experience and background specific to navigation programs, in particular Ground Segment architecture and services is highly appreciated

The job requires also:
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
Fast decision making in case of service impacting problems
Ability to work in intercultural and geographically distributed work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good interpersonal liaising and communication skills with strong attitude to team work
Hands-on mentality and systematic, self-organized, able to prioritize way of working
Fluency in written and spoken English, knowledge of Italian and/or German is also appreciated
Fluency in standard office automation tools (MS Office, Email, Internet, etc.)

Work location:
Spaceopal Headquarter (Munich, Germany).

It could be necessary to spend time periodically at the GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany) and/or at the GCC-I (Fucino, Italy). It could be necessary to participate to meetings in the above locations and in other relevant project locations in Europe.
