Service Level Engineer (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Spaceopal (SPO) Service Level and Satellite Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team, within the SPO Service Provision domain, specifically in the area of Service Level Management. 
 
The role requires a wide view at project level, for the monitoring, reporting and analysis of the performances and the related service level.
 
It also requires liaising effectively across all the teams in the Service Provision domain and with other GSOp teams, promoting the related information transfer and gathering necessary information and data for the effective achievement of the tasks below described and following the indications of the functional team leaders and the Service Provision Manager.
 
The Service Level Engineer is supporting the Service Level Manager for any issues related to the KPIs, Galileo Service performace analysis and for the overall achievement of the following tasks (primarily but not limited to):
 
  • Data collection, processing and evaluation of Galileo OS/PRS/HAS/OSNMA service performance and related KPIs
  • Design, develop and maintain navigation algorithms, GNSS data analysis Software tools and automated processing chains
  • Analyze GNSS data to investigate anomalies and derive performance parameters
  • Prepare technical documentation (requirements, verification plan, verification reports, service impact analysis)
  • Reviewing any KPI violations, identification of root cause/underlying anomaly and recommending any correction actions
  • Support Anomaly and Non-Conformance Review Boards
  • Analysing any changes to the KPI Regime including Validation
  • Performing KPI Impact Analysis for any Infrastructure upgrade or Operational changes/improvements
  • Providing suggestions for improvement to KPI definitions and service monitoring tools
Required Qualification and Experience:
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Commercial Engineering, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electronics), appropriate high school degree or relevant work experience
  • Over 3-year experience in GNSS SW development in C++/python/Matlab.
  • Experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs, or in highly security-sensitive commercial sectors
  • Experience in the Galileo program, and especially knowledge of the Galileo-specific accreditation processes and methodology, will be a preferential factor
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of methodologies involved in the service level management (KPI, metrics, calculation of liquidated damages)
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of methodologies involved in GNSS systems and service monitoring
  •  The job requires also
    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • Fluency in Italian and/or German is appreciated even if not mandatory
    • Strong attitude to team work, even in demanding situations
    • Hands-on mentality and systematic, self-organized, able to prioritize way of working
    • Fluency in standard office automation tools (MS Office, Email, Internet, etc.)
Work location:
Spaceopal Headquarter (Munich, Germany)
It could be necessary to spend time periodically at the GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany) and/or at the GCC-I (Fucino, Italy).
It could be necessary to participate to meetings in the above locations and in other relevant project locations in Europe.
