Remote Site Maintenance Engineer (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Remote Site Maintenance Engineer: supports the Spaceopal Maintenance Manager on all aspects of the Hosting Service provision as well as the related Ground Segment L1 Maintenance services at the world-wide distributed Galileo Remote Sites; 
- is responsible to improve service reliability of the Remote Site infrastructure and Maintenance services and to reduce the number of incidents;
 - contributes to the remote sites upgrades managed by the Remote Site Service Coordinator for the evolutions of the Galileo system.   

This includes in particular:
  • To deal with incidents, other emergencies and unplanned problems in line with the GSOp Service Management Processes
  • To process all maintenance and hosting service tickets related to the remote sites and GILSC, providing punctual and exhaustive analysis
  • To ensure the correct execution, recording and triggering of follow-up tasks needed to resolve the underlying issues in line with the GSOp ILS Plan
  • To act as point of contact for the ILS Support Desk for the status monitoring of the local maintenance tasks (preventive, corrective, evolutive)
  • To verify, planning and scheduling of local maintenance work and the correct and timely implementation of the solution for any issue detected
  • To develop together with the site L1 and Hosting Maintenance teams the annual preventive maintenance plan applicable for the respective site and GILSC
  • To support the technical coordination of the remote site hosting service and maintenance tasks
  • To suggest refinement of maintenance and spare processes to optimize TAT between GILSC, Sites and Manufacturers
  • To support the Maintenance Manager in the assessment, monitoring and control of the performance of the subcontractors
  • To maintain accurate records of all associated databases and technical documentation
  • To review subcontractor’s reporting data packages delivered for the recurring services and issuing of technical-managerial documentation
  • To support review boards and progress meetings (ARB, CCB, ILS working groups, MPM, QSPR, SER...)
To support the Remote Site Service Coordinator in the preparation of the technical proposals Spaceopal should receive from EUSPA for contract changes related to remote sites 
Required Qualification and Experience:
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electronics)
  • Experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs
  • Experience in the Galileo program
  • Experience in using Maintenance Planning and Ticketing tools
  • Previous experience working within maintenance, site service and warehouse environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Strong attitude to team work
  • Fluency in standard office automation tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, etc.)
Work location:
Spaceopal headquarter (Munich, Germany) 

It could be necessary to spend time periodically at the GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany) and/or at the GCC-I (Fucino, Italy) and/or at GILSC (Transinne, Belgium) in case of particular needs or milestones.
