Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Galileo Sites Hosting Service and Evolution SME supports the Spaceopal External Services Manager with its in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in the Hosting Sites services (in GCCs, GSC, Remote sites) and infrastructures domain on all aspects of Galileo System development, deployment, service continuity and actions planning for preventive maintenance.

This includes in particular, to proactively support the External Service Manager in:

  • Management and preparation of proposals concerning upcoming contract amendments of Galileo Hosting Services and Infrastructures (in GCCs, GSC and Remote sites):
    1. analyse, review and comment Customer Hosting requirements (DCNs, ICDs, etc.)
    2. flow down Hosting requirements to Subcontractors, analysing their offers and checking the compliance with the requirements
    3. interface Customer and Subcontractors for comments and clarifications for all technical issues relating to the offer finalization
  • Management of the awarded contract amendments:
  1. prepare, arrange, perform and close all contract technical reviews/milestones according to the Customer requirements (Organization Note, RIDs adjudication process, Minute of Meeting preparation/sharing/finalization, Milestone evidence collection, input for PMAC/invoicing, etc.)
  2. review Subcontractors data packages
  3. verify plans and schedule for the changes/upgrades and the correct and timely implementation of the solution for any issue detected
  4. for new site infrastructure or upgrade implementation works, closely follow all phases from site project planning, implementation execution up to activity completion and acceptance. It further includes ensuring schedule compliance, tracking capacities and logistics as well as technical compliance and delivery quality control
  5. guarantee the update of existing technical documentation related to Hosting Sites and infrastructures considering the infrastructure evolution (e.g. Unclassified and Classified ICDs/DCNs)
  • Execution of the Hosting management tasks:
    1. monitor the correct application of the failure/incident management and of the relevant escalation processes
    2. interface Hosting Entities to ensure proper communication on troubleshooting to the SPO management
    3. interface Hosting Entities for application, achievement, harmonization of processes and tool usage (SDT, ARTS etc.) for the Problem Management according to the applicable requirements
    4. monitor the service level provision through the use of KPIs; interface, when necessary, the Hosting Entities for the adoption of the proper corrective actions in order to guarantee the agreed level of performance
    5. guarantee regular reporting to the Customer, via the Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Progress Report contribution, for hosting service provision (applicable KPIs) and new Infrastructure deployment progress
    6. perform risk evaluation and mitigation, according to the Risk Management Plan, related to the infrastructure evolution
    7. monitor the Hosting Entities activities related to the preventive maintenance of the Hosting infrastructure, verifying the minimum impact on operations and service provision
    8. monitor the provision of support by the Hosting Entities to deployment, integration and operations tasksliaise with the Remote Site Service Coordinator and the GCC Hosting Services Coordinator to exploit synergies and share approaches and practices of the Hosting domain

Required Qualification and Experience:
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electronics)
  • Civil Engineering background
  • Extensive experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs
  • Experience in the Galileo program
  • Experience in using Maintenance Planning and Ticketing tools
  • Previous experience working within infrastructures (civil works, HVAC, power distribution, fire-fighting systems, etc.) implementation, maintenance, site service and warehouse environment.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Strong attitude to team work
  • Fluency in standard office automation tool (word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet, etc.)
Work location:

Spaceopal branch at GCC-I (Fucino, Italy). It could be necessary to spend time periodically at the Spaceopal headquarter (Munich, Germany), GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany), GILSC (Transinne, Belgium), GSC (Torrejon, Madrid, Spain), Galileo Remote Sites.

It could be necessary to participate to meetings in the above locations and in other relevant project locations in Europe and Worldwide.
